The 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) is a pathway for young Indian citizens to join the Indian Army as commissioned officers. This scheme is specifically for candidates who have completed their 10+2 education with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). Below are the key details about the TES-51 Course, set to commence in July 2024.
Highlights
- Mandatory JEE Mains: Candidates must have appeared for the JEE Mains exam to be eligible for TES-51.
- Eligibility: Candidates must be Indian citizens, aged between 16½ and 19½ years, and must have scored a minimum of 60% in PCM in their 10+2 exams.
- Application Dates: Online applications open from (May – June) and (October – November).
- Course commencement : Twice a year in the month of January and July
Training and Education
- Military and Technical Training:
- One year of basic military training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya.
- Three years of engineering training at one of the following institutions:
- Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE), Mhow
- Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME), Secunderabad
- College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune
- One additional year of post-commission training.
- Engineering Degree: Upon completion, candidates receive a B.Tech degree recognized by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi.

Application Procedure
- Online Application: Submit applications on the official Indian Army website.
- Documentation: Provide original and photocopies of 10th and 12th mark sheets, JEE Mains score sheet, Aadhar card, and other required documents.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview, which includes psychological tests, group tasks, and personal interviews.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must meet the physical and medical standards set by the Army.
